"The real beauty": Liverpool coach raves about exceptional midfield talent who made a Premier League debut this season

Liverpool are reportedly "delighted" with the progress that 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic has made and he could be set to play for Jurgen Klopp soon.

At the start of the year, Pep Lijnders said: "We look all the time at the Academy. Our U18s played against Burnley in the FA Youth Cup, we had Bobby Clark, Luke Chambers, Stefan Bajcetic, they all stand out.

"I hope they come with us during the pre-season because it is important for them to have a proper pre-season to know exactly how we want to do things."

Bajcetic then wowed supporters with impressive displays in pre-season with his best game coming during the 5-0 drubbing of RB Leipzig.

Although Darwin Nunez scored four goals in that game, Bajctetic was the centre of fans' excitement as it is obvious the Reds have a stunning talent on their hands.

So far this season, the teenager has been named on Jurgen Klopp's bench for a number of Premier League games.

He also featured on the bench for the Champions League horror show in Naples as he watched his senior teammates defeated 4-1 to mark an awful start in Europe.

Liverpool have a lot of work to do to return to the form that saw them embark on a thrilling quadruple hunt last season.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the coaching staff is "delighted" with the young midfielder's progress although the only official minutes he has received came during the 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth.

That game is the only game this season that Klopp's side has truly impressed but the game was all the more enjoyable as it marked Bajcetic's Premier League debut.

Speaking to the Echo, U21 manager Barry Lewtas said: "I see him every day because he is still training with us and he's still with us. So obviously he goes down there and plays with the [the senior team] and we've got Stefan and Bobby Clark who do that as well.

"We can add them both to our mix as well if we need, so in terms of Stefan, we have a really good system in place that we don't lose contact with the boys. It's not like they go with the first team [and then we don't see them], it's the same building, the same staff and we speak daily.

"So he's not with us all the time and at the moment he's having a fantastic experience with the first team but I think the real beauty of where we are now is those connections are stronger."
