Jurgen Klopp 'fed up' with £53k-a-week star - may leave in January

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly 'fed up' with £53k-a-week star and he could even leave the club in the January window as a result

The deadline day signing of Arthur Melo was indeed a strange one, given he was brought in to help with Liverpool's midfield injury issues.

I'm sure the recruitment team did their research, but Arthur has about as worse an injury record as the likes of Thiago and Naby Keita - never mind that he's not played regular football for at least a few years.

Now the latest reports are claiming that Klopp has already made his mind up on the player and wants him gone in January - despite the Brazilian only playing a total of *checks notes* 13 minutes of action.

Has Klopp already made his mind up?

According to reporter Manu Heredia, Klopp is already fed up with Arthur and does not believe he is at the level required. It's also said that Liverpool are already looking for a way to cut the loan contract short in January.

There are reports of an 'easy-going' attitude from the player, who signed on deadline day on a season-long deal with an option to buy of €37.5m at the end of the year. Something tells us that they won't be exercising that option.

Earlier this month, Klopp claimed "Arthur needs now just football - and training, especially, that's how it is," Klopp revealed earlier this month.

"He wasn't in team training for a while at Juve, so he needs proper team training - and that's what we are doing with him."

"Can he play minutes? Yes. Should he play a full game? No, because he needs to get used to the intensity in each competition."

He's only managed 186 appearances in seven years at club level, which equates to 26 games a year. That's not even the full 90 minutes either, so you can see the pattern of inactivity.

This could be a similar situation to that of Saul's loan move to Chelsea last season - the Spaniard spent a season on loan in London but reports early on claimed that he couldn't return to Atletico Madrid meaning he was set for a season essentially on the sidelines.

Arthur could be set for a similar issue, but Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Liverpool could terminate Arthur Melo‘s loan deal and send him back to Juventus in January. It would be an embarrassing exchange all round and it's certainly a rare misfire in the transfer window for Liverpool.
