"Not great": Ex-Red says Liverpool sensation isn't world class at one thing

The worst take of the week goes to Paul Ince. The former Liverpool player has bizarrely claimed that Mohamed Salah isn't overall a world class player.

There has been A LOT of disrespect towards the Egyptian despite constantly providing the goods for Liverpool season after season.

Firstly, Ince pointed out Salah's technical abilities, or his perceived lack thereof, especially when it comes to delivering crosses after cutting in on his left foot.

"I think his record speaks for itself," Ince said when asked by talkSPORT if Salah is world class or not.

He continued: "Is he a world-class player? Technically, I wouldn't say so. I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot, putting balls into the box, they are not great."

However, evaluating Salah's caliber based solely on this aspect overlooks the broader spectrum of his skill set and influence on the pitch. Salah's game is not just about crossing; it's about his extraordinary ability to find spaces, his speed, dribbling, and, most notably, his consistent goal-scoring prowess.

Ince did go on to say: "But as a far as a world-class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think yes."

Well, then surely that makes him world class? His main role in the Liverpool team is to be the player that most consistently provides a goal or assist for his team.

This season, despite being at AFCON for a month and then subsequently missing 10 games through injury, he has 23 goals and 13 assists.

You cannot expect more of Salah then that. Especially when you consider he's also 31. Yet, he's also showing no sign of slowing down which is why so many fans are agitated by news from HITC, that new CEO of Football Michael Edwards is prepared to sell Salah.

The club rejected a £150 million offer from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal in the summer, according to the Guardian, and so a huge offer will need to be presented in the upcoming transfer window if there is to be any chance of him leaving before his contract expires at the end of next season.

Furthermore, as Liverpool faces a transition period with Klopp's departure, Salah's importance to the team is even greater.
