Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been caught on football twitter liking a post about Liverpool star

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been spotted liking a tweet which involves Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Blues owner has entered the Premier League with a bang following Roman Abramovich's sale of the club. He hasn't held back as he's spent big money to sign players and managers as he fully immerses himself in English football.

Now he's been spotted partaking in a key part of football culture these days - liking a tweet on football Twitter.

It involves TAA, who's endured a tough start to the season, taking criticism for his poor defensive displays as Liverpool have started the season in indifferent form, to say the least.

Boehly likes tweet involving Trent Alexander-Arnold

The American is a multi-billionaire and has completely thrown himself into the world of football here in England and that even stretches to the Football section of Twitter.

According to his likes, he liked a tweet which pitted TAA against Chelsea's Reece James. He liked the tweet in support of James as he received 21.2k likes to TAA's 617.

Standing out as two of the best right backs in the world, the pair are always pitted against each other despite being seemingly friendly off the pitch having both been part of the England set-up from youth to senior level.

James even came out in support of Trent this year, leaping to the defence of Alexander-Arnold by insisting those who criticise the defensive ability don't understand football.

"I make mistakes as well. I gave away a penalty against Hungary so we are both still learning our trade," he said.

"Liverpool have 95% of the ball and he defends less than I have to. People have a lot of stuff to say and don't really know the game. Trent is a great player."

Trent has four more caps to his name than James and we're sure England manager Gareth Southgate would love to deploy both of these in his 3-4-3 system once Kyle Walker's time is up at that level.

Both are local to their clubs and have had similar respective journey's from their academy days right through to their club's first team. The pair will continue to be pitted against each other because of their rivalry at club level, the fact they play in the same position and that they're both competing for a spot in the World Cup squad.
