2 Liverpool youngsters nominated for this year's Golden Boy Award

Liverpool youngsters, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho, have both been nominated for this year's Golden Boy award. The duo are among 40 other players under the age of 21 to be nominated for this year's award.

They have some serious competition with some amazing talents being nominated. The likes of Karim Adeyemi, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Josko Gvardiol, Gavi, and Pedri are all up for this grand prize this year.

Check out the tweet below for the full list of nominees.

Since the inaugural ceremony in 2003, only one Liverpool player has ever gone on to win it. It was Raheem Sterling, after his incredible 2013/14 season when he almost helped guide Liverpool to their first Premier League title. He scored nine goals and assisted seven times in his breakout campaign.

Harvey Elliott

Elliott has been one to watch ever since he became the youngest player to play in a Premier League match for Fulham. Since then, he's had an impressive loan spell in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers before becoming crucial to Jurgen Klopp's plans.

He played the first six Premier League games last season, but his season was cut short due to a horrific injury picked up against Leeds United. The youngster has since returned and has become a regular place in the starting eleven. He even has been one of Liverpool's best players during this period.

Fabio Carvalho

Carvalho is another young talent that was poached from Fulham. He signed for the Reds this summer for only €5.9m and already has two goals to his name, including an important winner against Newcastle United.

However, he was nominated for his incredible title-winning season at Fulham in the Championship last season. The Portuguese attacker scored 11 goals and assisted eight in 38 appearances.

These two have been exceptional so far this season and they have so much potential to grow into world-class footballers under Klopp. You can vote for them here.
