Newcastle are plotting a move for this Liverpool star.
The reds know that heading into this summer, they have a fight on their hand to keep some first team stars. Aside the players whose contracts are set to expire, Liverpool could move a few players in the squad. The contracts of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold expire in a few months. None of them have committed to new deals, with Trent set to join Real Madrid soon.
Liverpool will also anticipate offers from Ibrahima Konate and Caomhin Kelleher, whose contracts expire in 2026. The reds have a decision to make with the duo; if they both fail to sign new deals, the club may be forced to sell them.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?

Newcastle to tempt Liverpool star this summer

Liverpool could enter next season without three of their starting back four. Trent, Van Dijk and Konate could all leave at the end of this campaign. However, the reds have plans to sign a new defender, with Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen a major target.
Another defender could be out of the door at Anfield, as Newcastle United target Jarrel Quansah. According to The Times, Newcastle have Quansah on their shortlist and believe that a bid around with add-ons could be enough to convince Liverpool to part ways with the England international.
Quansah has been behind Van Dijk and Konate in the pecking order this season, and has frequently deputized at right back. This season, the 22-year old has seen his playing time reduce under Arne Slot, and the Magpies believe they could offer him a way out with first team football.
Reds should consider Quansah offer
Many Liverpool fans would disagree on selling a very good young talent. But there are arguments to the contrary. At 22-years old, Jarrel Quansah’s value is the highest it will be. And with Liverpool set to dip into the transfer market for a new defender, there is a slim chance that the England international becomes a starter anytime soon.
He is young with a lot to learn, but his recent showings have indicated he is not the complete package yet. Taking a £30million profit on the youngster could be a very good deal. It would allow Liverpool to reinvest funds into the squad, and possibly upgrade on the position. The only negative is that the sale could end up strengthening a Premier League rival.
