Liverpool have shown that they mean business ahead of the transfer window, and the squad are set to be taken to the next level this summer. However, the club have a few difficult decisions to make on certain players and Newcastle United want one of those stars.
The Florian Wirtz blitz is set to cost Liverpool more than £100m, which means the club will need to ensure they bring in good fees through player sales.
The Reds are also set to confirm moves for Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, and would still need a centre-back and a striker before the end of the window.
Several Liverpool players are uncertain about their futures this summer, and it has been claimed Newcastle are keen to provide an escape route to at least one of them.

Newcastle want an outstanding defender from Liverpool

Jarell Quansah has earned a Premier League winners’ medal but has been nothing more than a bit-part player at Liverpool this season.
There is an understanding at Anfield that he needs to play regular football next season, and the club are open to loan offers for him this summer.
Nottingham Forest are among the clubs interested in signing him, but according to CaughtOffSide, Newcastle are also pushing hard to sign him.
Eddie Howe admires Quansah and is ready to provide him with a guarantee of minutes to convince him to move to St. James’ Park in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Newcastle are likely to push for a permanent transfer or at least a buy option in any loan deal for the 22-year-old centre-back.
Liverpool would be open to cashing in on the defender if a club are ready to offer a fee of around £30m in the upcoming summer transfer window.
