Liverpool have sent shockwaves across Europe with their moves ahead of the summer transfer window, but not everything is going according to plan. Real Madrid are threatening to blow apart their pursuit of a top English star this summer.
The Merseyside giants are on the verge of agreeing on a record-breaking deal to sign Florian Wirtz, and will soon confirm Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool are also in talks to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, but the club are continuing to look for solutions in the market for a centre-back ahead of the summer.
However, one of their top targets could be swooped up by Real Madrid if the Spanish giants have their way and convince him to follow their instructions.

Real Madrid are encouraging a top Reds target to run down his contract

Marc Guehi has a year left on his contract at Crystal Palace and has been expected to leave Selhurst Park amid interest from Newcastle United and Liverpool.
Newcastle believe they are the frontrunners after failing to sign him last summer, but Liverpool are sensing an opportunity to sign a top defender for a reasonable fee.
However, Real Madrid are encouraging him to run down his contract and move to the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer next summer.
They did the same with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Stefan Borson conceded that it is emerging as a problem for several clubs as they are losing high-value players for nothing.
He indicated Palace would want to control the situation by selling him in the upcoming transfer window.
“It’s starting to become a bit of a problem for many clubs because what we’re seeing is less so Barcelona so far, but certainly Real Madrid are making a bit of a habit of being able to use their undoubted profile to convince players to see their contracts out”, Borson told Football Insider.
“Obviously, they did it with Steve McManaman many years ago.
“But it hasn’t happened that often over the history of the game where top players have walked out for free.
“Probably a handful of really good players have done it, so it is a big issue, but ultimately, Palace can control that situation by selling him now.”
