As of February, none of the trio have confirmed or denied their future at the club. Virgil Van Dijk recently rubbished reports of him signing a contract extension. Recent reports indicate Liverpool are in talks with the defender’s representatives. Trent Alexander-Arnold is also heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer.

Mohamed Salah has yet to reveal his stance on his future, but former Reds teammate Dejan Lovren made some interesting comments. The ex-Liverpool defender said that he remains in contact with Salah, and that the Egyptian is leaning towards leaving the club:

”Salah believes that there are things missing from the club side, and I hope they’ll be resolved soon. But the current reality is that he’s closer to leaving than staying.”

Caught Offside have now reported that Salah’s future is still up in the air. But the positive news is that the 32-year old has made it his priority to renew his contract with Liverpool. The reds have offered a two-year deal with good financial terms but there is still some details for both parties to agree on. Salah also feels he has a high chance of winning the Ballon d’Or if he stays in Europe, handing Liverpool a further advantage.

Liverpool need to seal the deal

The reports have made it quite clear; Salah wants to stay, and Liverpool want him to stay. Financial terms will not be a huge barrier, and a two-year deal suits all parties. Mohamed Salah knows that playing in England gives him the chance to compete for awards in Europe. Now, it is down to Liverpool to seal the deal.
