Liverpool are yet to resolve the future of Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian international has been pivotal for the team over the last week. Salah had a goal and assist against Aston Villa, and the same weekend against Manchester City. The forward also provided the assist for Alexis Mac Allister in the win against Newcastle on Wednesday night.
Liverpool beat the Magpies 2-0 at Anfield to go 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League. Salah is now a few assists away from breaking the single-season record for most assists in the competition. The reds can win their first trophy of the season if they repeat this result in the League Cup final this month.
Arne Slot and Liverpool could potentially win the treble in his first season.

Mohamed Salah gives update on his future

Leaving Anfield with a treble would be the best way to leave the club on a high. Salah could depart this summer when his contract expires. He is not the only one, as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk could follow him out the door. Mohamed Salah has been a huge part of Liverpool’s season. He has 25 goals and 17 assists in the Premier League. Liverpool will hope their negotiations end in a contract extension like it happened in 2022.
Salah has been adamant this season that he is not chasing individual records. The forward says he is focused on winning the league this year:
“If I stay in this country, I’ll think about it, but for the moment, I’m just thinking about winning the Premier League, then we’ll see at the end of the season.” he said speaking to TNT Sports.
“I think it’s my best season, so far I think it’s my best season because I make the other players around me better – that’s what I feel,”
“I know their games, all the numbers around all the players, it’s going to be higher than other seasons, plus my assists is higher which means I help them a lot.
“If you look in that direction, Cody, Lucho, other players, their season is better than others and I think that’s it’s my best season because I make players around me better.”
The Egyptian international then mentioned that the Ballon d’Or is a possibility if he ends this season with a Premier League and Champions League trophy.
“Absolutely (win everything). Let’s win the league and the Champions League then we’ll see because the Ballon d’Or is sometimes stuff involved there. I just want to win… hopefully.”
Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday.
