Liverpool will have to fend off multiple clubs this summer.
The reds plan to be active in the off season. Liverpool are planning to make major changes to the squad ahead of next season. Arne Slot has proven this year that he is the man to lead the club after Jurgen Klopp. The reds sit top of the Premier League with a 13-point gap. Liverpool’s win against Newcastle midweek followed a huge win away to Manchester City last Sunday.
Liverpool could end the season with a treble. The reds could have competed for four trophies, but were knocked out of the FA Cup by Plymouth. Slot rotated for that game, and explained why keeping his team fresh was necessary:
”I’ve explained it already a few times that that’s the biggest reason why I didn’t take these players to Plymouth Argyle because then they have to travel again, they are away from home, they might have to play 10, 15, 30, 45 minutes because I would definitely have used them if I would have taken them – and that means for them no rest.”
Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?
Arsenal in talks with Liverpool transfer target

This summer will be a huge one for the reds. Plans are being put in place to make major squad changes. Liverpool will make any transfer plans while considering the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The trio are set to leave Anfield in the summer when their contracts expire. Salah recently gave an update on his future at the club.
With Trent’s imminent departure, the club could be in the market for a right back. Liverpool have been linked with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich. The German is out of contract at the end of the season, and can join as a free agent. The defender is now open to negotiate with other clubs, despite being in talks with Bayern. Florian Plettenburg has now reported that Arsenal are in the race to sign the 30-year old. The Gunners plan to play the German international in midfield next season.

Liverpool seem to be out of the race, but anything can happen in the summer transfer market.
Kimmich move already unlikely
Liverpool will need a new right back if Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves at the end of the season. Despite the fact that Joshua Kimmich can play the position, his preference has always been in midfield. Arsenal would have the upper hand because they will give him playing time in his preferred position. The reds are better off looking at other targets.
