4-3-3: Six changes for attacking lineup that can dominate Arsenal in FA cup clash

Liverpool face Arsenal in the FA Cup this afternoon but Jurgen Klopp will have to contend with several absentees with international commitments and injuries forcing his team selection into a new direction.

Liverpool are without eight players for their trip to the Emirates but Klopp will still want to name a strong side to face the Gunners.

Both sides have their sights firmly fixed on the title race but the FA Cup presents another chance.

I predict Klopp will make six changes to the side that dominated Newcastle United in the 4-2 win last time out.

Predicted lineup to face Arsenal at the Emirates

Predicted lineup (4-3-3): Kelleher, Gomez, Quansah, van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch, Nunez, Jota, Elliott.

Alisson Becker will want to start but it would be a smart move from Klopp to hand the very dependable Caoimhín Kelleher a start.

Jurgen Klopp may choose to rest Ibrahima Konate after his return from a minor muscle injury that saw him miss four games for club and country in August and September.

Jarell Quansah has been outstanding this season and is hardly a downgrade at the back. Partnered with Virgil van Dijk, he could do a fantastic job in an important match.

At fullback, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are certain to start with not many options beyond them.

With Dominik Szoboszlai injured and Wataru Endo off attending the Asian Cup in Qatar, Klopp needs to shake up his midfield. There are still a variety of combinations he could choose. Curtis Jones seems a certainty given his form this season.

Alongside him, we should see a first start since returning from injury for Alexis Mac Allister while Ryan Gravenberch could also be handed a rare start.

In attack, Liverpool are without the prolific Mohamed Salah as he is also on international duty with Egypt. With Salah at AFCON, it will be interesting to see who Klopp selects at right wing.

I'd like to see Harvey Elliott given a chance as he can tuck into midfield to give Liverpool more bodies in the engine room when out of position. Given the ball-playing prowess of Mikel Arteta's side, this would be astute.

Also up front, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota give the Reds the best chance of scoring goals. That might seem odd to say given Nunez has been misfiring lately but you cannot discount the Uruguayan's chance-creation.

Jota's inclusion speaks for itself. In 13 appearances, he has scored eight goals.
