Liverpool trigger shock £100m hijack to stun Manchester City

Liverpool are keen to push the envelope in the summer window to bolster Arne Slot’s title-winning squad. Sporting director Richard Hughes has been scheming several deals, and it seems he is now prepared to hijack one of Manchester City’s priority targets for the summer.

Slot is not prepared to stand still, and wants to carry out a major revamp of the Liverpool squad, both in terms of incoming and outgoings, in the coming months.

Hughes has been holding talks with players’ agents in his attempts to set up deals, and more meetings are expected to take place in the coming days as we edge closer to the end of the season.

However, it has emerged Liverpool are now prepared to carry out an ambitious hijack and steal a player from under Manchester City’s nose this summer.

Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?

The Reds eye a massive transfer hijack

Morgan Gibbs-White has been a standout performer for Nottingham Forest, who are astonishingly fighting for a place in the top four this season.

Manchester City have set their eyes on him, and Pep Guardiola wants to sign the Forest star as the replacement for Kevin De Bruyne in the upcoming transfer window.

Gibbs-White also wants the move, but according to TBR Football, Liverpool have barged into the race to sign the Manchester City target this summer.

The Merseyside giants also want to add flair and pace to their team, and are pushing to work out a deal to sign the Forest star in the coming months.

Liverpool believe they can beat Manchester City to his signature if they can sell a move to Anfield to Gibbs-White in the summer.

Forest are aware that they could lose their star man this summer, but have slapped a massive £100m asking price on the player ahead of the next window.
