Liverpool want to be ambitious in the summer transfer window after Arne Slot delivered their 20th league title this season. The Reds have identified several top targets ahead of the end of the season, but they are making moves on potentially one of the biggest shock transfers of the summer.
Slot wants a substantial revamp of the squad, and Liverpool are prepared to back him with funds to bring in as many as five new signings in the next transfer window.
The Liverpool manager wants to add creativity, flair and more goals to his team next season, and the club have been looking at several forwards and attacking midfielders.
However, sporting director Richard Hughes and his team have made a move to secure one of the biggest shock transfers of the summer, and it shows real ambition on the part of the Liverpool hierarchy.

The Reds contact agents of a top Chelsea star

It emerged recently that Liverpool are seriously investigating the possibility of snaring Cole Palmer away from Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window.
Since then, Palmer has returned to form and scored against the Reds in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Liverpool have gone further to try to sign the attacker in the upcoming transfer window.
It has been claimed that the Reds have been in touch with Palmer’s agents to assess the viability of signing the Chelsea star in the coming months.
Chelsea are not in the mood to sell him, and he is under contract until 2033 with the club. It could take a bid beyond the £110m mark to snare him away from Stamford Bridge.
However, Liverpool remain keen and are seriously assessing the possibility of signing Palmer this summer.
