Liverpool transfer decision imminent – major update expected in next 48 hours

Liverpool could make a decisive move in the transfer market within the next 48 hours, as the club near a major breakthrough on a high-profile deal. Sources suggest that internal talks have escalated, and a major update is expected imminently.

The Premier League champions have already spent upwards of £180m to secure three signings in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez this summer.

Liverpool have other priorities in the transfer market, such as signing a centre-back and a striker, but for the moment, the Reds are happy to take their time and assess their options before getting into concrete negotiations for other targets.

The Merseyside giants also need player sales, and a major player needs to move for the club to sign an upgrade for his position in the upcoming weeks.

A transfer decision on a Liverpool star is imminent

Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool this summer, but the delay in finalising his departure is preventing the Reds from making concrete moves on striker targets.

Napoli are in talks with the Premier League champions over a deal, but they have so far been reluctant to match the £50m asking price.

The Serie A giants are still interested, but the club are assessing other targets as well as part of their plans to sign a striker.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Napoli will take a call on whether to continue to pursue Nunez’s signature or shift their focus to other targets.

The Liverpool striker is their top choice, but they are in no mood to pay the price the Reds are demanding for his sale.

Napoli remain convinced that they can work out a compromise, but they want to sign a striker soon and are prepared to walk away from the negotiations if Liverpool continue to play hardball.

Liverpool may have to agree to a compromised transfer fee

Nunez has no future at Liverpool, but the longer the situation festers, the more complicated it could become for the Reds to offload him.

Liverpool would have ideally liked to ship him off to Saudi Arabia for a large transfer fee, but the Uruguayan has suitors in Europe, and he wants to play at the top level of European football.

He has approved a move to Napoli and is keen to play under Antonio Conte’s tutelage for the Italian champions next season.

However, Liverpool’s asking price is a problem for the Serie A giants, and they are ready to move to other targets if the Reds continue to stick to their demands.

The Merseyside giants might have to accept that none of the striker’s European suitors would agree to offer a package worth up to £50m.

Liverpool would have to agree to a compromise rather than further delay his sale, which in turn would affect their chances of landing a top striker.
