Liverpool had limited involvement in transfers this year.
Over the past two windows, the club has signed two first team players on a permanent deal. Arne Slot did not have any say in the signings, and has so far had to do with the current crop of players. The former Feyenoord boss has done a fantastic job this season. No one really tipped the reds to be competitive after Klopp left Anfield, but Slot has showed Liverpool that there is hope.
A brutal exit to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties ended hopes of a treble win. But Slot can win his first trophy in charge this weekend in the League Cup final. Liverpool could win the double, as they have opened a healthy gap on top of the Premier League with 10 games to go.

One of the reds’ signings in the summer was Federico Chiesa. The Italian international arrived at Anfield on a cut price deal from Juventus. But the move has not really panned out for all parties. Chiesa took one month to be fit enough to play, and after his second appearance for the club he got injured and was out till December. The 27-year old has 1 goal and 1 assist in 10 games this season.
According to David Lynch, it would be highly unlikely that Chiesa is at Anfield before the start of next season. TuttoMercato in Italy have also reported that Liverpool are already listening to offers for the forward ahead of this summer. He could follow Darwin Nunez out of the door, with the Uruguayan reportedly being offered in a high profile swap deal.
Federico Chiesa has three-years left on his current deal with the reds.
Best move for all parties
Federico Chiesa has to move this summer. Liverpool have been frustrated by how little football he has played this season. When he was initially signed, there was a bit of hope that the reds had gotten a bargain. Chiesa’s last season at Juventus showed a player who still had life in him. But since he arrived in England, he has failed to show anything positive.
It is also a bad move on the player’s side. With the 2026 World Cup around the corner, no player would like to be inactive sitting on the bench with limited minutes. To boost his chances of returning to the national team fold, he needs to be out playing regular football. Parting ways this summer is the best option for Liverpool.
