Liverpool had a tough game midweek.
The reds took on Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League tie. Liverpool sneaked a 1-0 win as they were dominated in Paris. PSG took the lead early in the game, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Arne Slot’s substitutions paid off on the night. Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot came off the bench and combined to score the winner. The feeling in France was that PSG should have won the game.
This notion was proved right on Tuesday night when PSG arrived at Anfield. They started the game quickly off the blocks and put Liverpool under massive pressure. Ousmane Dembele gave the team their breakthrough early in the first half after a defensive mixup.
The game ended 1-1 on aggregate and went to penalties, with the French champions progressing to the next round.

The highlight from both ties was the performance of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. He won man of the match after making nine saves in Paris. Alisson was even more important in the second leg as he made multiple saves to keep the reds in the game. The Brazilian received rave reviews for two stellar performances despite his team being knocked out.
Now, the 32-year old’s future at Anfield is the main topic of discussion. Alisson has two years left on his current deal, and there are no reports of him opting for an extension. David Ornstein says the Liverpool goalkeeper is facing an uncertain future:
“I think Alisson described it afterwards as being the best performance of his life. And I don’t think he is the type who’s prone to exaggeration.
“There’s been a lot of talk about his future, because Liverpool have a deal lined up for Mamardashvili from Valencia. They also have a very good number two in Kelleher.”
Ornstein then touched on possible contract talks involving the Brazilian.
“But the one it appears they should be prioritising right now is Allison. I think he’s got a year left on his contract at the end of this season.
“All the discussion about Salah, Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and their potential renewals or not.
“What about Alison? Shouldn’t he be getting a new deal? Maybe that’s one that Liverpool will come on to.”
