Liverpool will have a chunk of their budget unavailable this summer.
The reds are planning an overhaul of the first team squad after what has happened so far this season. Arne Slot navigated this season with just two first team signings in two transfer windows. For what it is worth, the Liverpool boss has exceeded all expectations. Heading into the new season, no one really gave the team a chance of competing. Under Slot, the team sit top of the Premier League with 10 games to go, and can lift their first trophy in the League Cup final this weekend.
Liverpool have realised this season that the squad needs heavy reinforcements. Over the past few weeks it has become clear that Arne Slot needs quality signings heading into the next season.

The main thing on Liverpool’s list is the contracts of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk. Any transfer decisions made will be based on their futures. All three are out of contract at the end of the season, and have not showed any signs of remaining at Anfield. The latest news surrounding Salah is that he has reached out to Barcelona over a possible move this summer.
Arne Slot has insisted that the club improve the attack heading into next season. Outside Salah, all the options have failed to be consistent this season. It was very evident in the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, where Liverpool basically failed to create any threat over 120 minutes.
Speaking of the Champions League, after the reds exit; the club have missed out of a possible €70million in prize money. That total would be from progressing to the quarter-finals until reaching the final. There is positive news as Liverpool have already earned in excess of a whopping €47.65million from the group phase and making the round of 16.
Add that to the reported €200million the club will have available for transfer funds, and it hands Liverpool all the resources they need to build a formidable team to challenge for silverware next season.
Paris Saint-Germain loss a learning curve
PSG had a very good squad over both legs. Their quality in attack prevailed over both legs. Despite them managing just one goal, they created so much. And it took the brilliance of Alisson to keep the game from getting out of reach. Now Liverpool need to learn from this and recruit quality attackers this summer.
