Liverpool have a lot of decisions to make ahead of next season.
Arne Slot’s first season has been a success so far. But nothing can be confirmed until the end of the campaign. So far, Slot has been able to transform the team to compete. Players who struggled last season have had a significantly better campaigns this year. Ryan Gravenberch has been the star of the team this season, after struggling last year.
Liverpool have to face major decisions in the coming months. First is the contracts of three of the club’s best players. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are set to leave at the end of the season. All three of their contracts expire this summer, and so far nothing has been confirmed over their futures.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Liverpool to sell first team star

The second set of decisions to be made is who will leave the club this summer. Apart from players who will leave at the end of their contracts, there are some who will be sold. Reports claim that Liverpool are looking to offload some attackers in the coming months. Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are available in the upcoming window.
Liverpool will also need to make decisions on some players whose contracts are expiring beyond this summer. Ibrahima Konate, Caomhin Kelleher and Andrew Robertson are the big names set to leave in 2026. However, according to reports, Robertson is seen as a key member of the team for the near future. The defender is also not in a rush, and will remain at Anfield past this summer.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have made a decision on Konstantinos Tsimikas. The defender has two years left on his current deal. Tsimikas is set to become available this summer, with Liverpool looking for a buyer. The reds plan to find a new left back, and moving Tsimikas this summer is the first step. Liverpool would then hope the signing will compete with the experienced Andrew Robertson for the starting role.
The reds have already identified a transfer target. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is on the shortlist, and could be available for around £40million.
Is letting Tsimikas go the right decision?
If Liverpool do recruit a new left back, then the sensible option to sell Konstantinos Tsimikas. Between the Greek international and Andrew Robertson, Tsimikas has more value. Getting a decent fee for him will be enough to reinvest for a new left back.
