Liverpool extended their lead on top of the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Liverpool recorded their third straight home win since January. Dominik Szoboszlai put the reds ahead just 11 minutes into the first half after some neat footwork from Luis Diaz.
Mohamed Salah provided the assist for the second goal early in the second half. Mac Allister was on the end of Salah’s 17th Premier League assist this season. Liverpool held on to the two-goal lead till the end of the game. Arne Slot’s men will hope for a repeat of this result in the League Cup final next month.

Liverpool to hand Andrew Robertson a renewal

Liverpool could lose up to three players at the end of this season. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all out of contract this summer. The trio have played a very important role this season. Salah has carried the Liverpool attack, while Van Dijk has anchored one of the best defences in the league. Trent Alexander-Arnold has bounced back from an underwhelming campaign last year.
The reds could lose more players; Ibrahima Konate has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Diaz is also in the news as FC Barcelona are in talks with his representatives. According to reports, Liverpool are looking for a buyer for Konstantinos Tsimikas.
Andrew Robertson is set to stay at Anfield for the near future. The Athletic revealed that the club see him as a key player moving forward. Liverpool expect his experience and leadership to lead the younger members of the squad. With all the uncertainty surrounding Trent, Salah and Van Dijk, Robertson is a sure bet to stay this summer. The report even hinted that Liverpool are willing to offer the 30-year old a short-term extension.
Milos Kerkez has been lined up for a move this summer, and if signed, he would be expected to compete with Robertson.
Great news for the reds
Liverpool could lose three of their longest serving players in one window. It would be a huge blow for the team, and would leave some leadership roles vacant. Robertson already stepped in as captain in the Champions League this season. Having him around for the next few years is the best option for the club.
