Liverpool to press to sign La Liga star

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and his recruitment team have their work cut out as they feel the pressure of backing up the good work Arne Slot has carried out this season with little to no help in the last summer transfer window.

The club sit at the summit of the Premier League table and some believe that Liverpool should push for new signings in the winter window to bolster their title challenge.

However, the noise coming out of the club is not encouraging as Liverpool do not believe that they need mid-season reinforcements to sustain a title charge in the latter half of the campaign.

Arne Slot believes that there is enough depth in his squad and with injuries set to clear up, the Liverpool manager expects to have more options in the coming weeks.

However, Liverpool are planning to spend big next summer and adding to their forward line is likely to be one of the priorities for the Merseyside giants.

The club are tracking several strikers and wide forwards and one more name has been added to their shortlist of targets.

The club push to sign attacker in Spain

Takefusa Kubo has been catching the eye of several clubs this season with his performances in Spain with Real Sociedad.

He has three league goals to his name this term and according to Estadio Deportivo, Liverpool have their eyes on the winger for a move next summer.

The Merseyside have been keeping tabs on him and the club are now pushing forward to formalise their interest in the winger in the coming months.

However, any move for Kubo would be complicated as Real Sociedad have no interest in selling him or entertaining any negotiations for his sale.

He has a €60m release clause in his contract and La Real have no interest in selling the winger for less than that figure.

Liverpool would have to trigger the clause in his contract if they want to take Kubo to Anfield in the upcoming transfer windows.

The Merseyside giants will monitor him for the rest of the season before making any definitive decision on whether to pursue his signature.
