Liverpool could make a huge statement in the upcoming transfer window.
The reds have held off in making transfer moves since January. Liverpool rejected offers from Real Madrid and some Saudi Pro League clubs. Keeping the team’s core players was vital as the club is challenging for silverware on all fronts.
Despite their shock exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Plymouth, Liverpool could still win the treble. The reds lead the Premier League with seven points, and are in the round of 16 in the Champions League. Liverpool could win their first trophy of the campaign against Newcastle in the League Cup final.

Liverpool to move for €65M French star

Liverpool could find themselves in the market for big signings in the coming months. The reds could lose Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer. The trio are yet to sign new deals at the club. As it stands, none of the three are expected to remain at Anfield. Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk mentioned last week that he is yet to sign a new deal:
”The only thing I’m focusing on is the game ahead of me, and I’m feeling good. I think everyone can see that, and what the future brings, at the moment, I’ve got no idea.
So anyone who says they know it, they are absolutely wrong. But we’ll see what happens.”
The reds have been reportedly looking to bolster their midfield. One of their latest targets is Paris Saint-Germain star Warren Zaire-Emery. Anfield Watch reports that Liverpool are willing to spend a chunk of their transfer budget on the French youngster. Zaire-Emery still has four years left on his deal in France, but reports claim he will be available for around €65million. The 18-year old would be expected to provide competition for the attacking midfield role.
Is the transfer fee for Zaire-Emery too expensive?
In the current market, getting a player of such quality will cost a premium. At 18-years old, Liverpool could have their midfield sorted for the next few years. Zaire-Emery can also fill in attacking roles, his versatility has been useful to Luis Enrique this season.
This year has showed how much the club needs quality in all areas. Liverpool need to use this summer to strengthen the squad. Arne Slot has shown how well he can use this current set of players, bringing in more quality will only make the team stronger.
