Liverpool are set to have a big summer transfer window.
The club is preparing to back Arne Slot after how he has performed this season. The campaign is yet to end, but the former Feyenoord coach already has Liverpool challenging for a treble. After their win in the first leg of their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, the reds are one step away from the next round.
Liverpool are also top of the Premier League and 13 points ahead of Arsenal in second place. Slot’s side can lift their first trophy of the season in the League Cup final against Newcastle next weekend.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Liverpool set to be handed a huge discount

Wednesday nights win over PSG showed again how the Liverpool attack cannot be called upon in some situations. When Mohamed Salah was off his game, none of the other attackers in the team stepped up. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz had horrid games where they failed to pose any threat. It took Darwin Nunez coming off the bench for the team to create any spark. His perseverance saw him win an aerial duel before calmly slotting the ball to Harvey Elliot who scored the winner. After the game, PSG boss Luis Enrique says his team should have won.
Liverpool will be in the market for new faces in attack ahead of next season. They have now been handed a huge boost in pursuit of a major target. According to Teamtalk, Rafael Leao will be made available for sale this summer. Barcelona and Liverpool have been mentioned as the main suitors.
The Portuguese forward has had a hard time this season, and his attitude has frustrated AC Milan fans. His new coach Sergio Conceicao told him to focus after a run of bad games this season:
“He can do much, much more. He has incredible qualities. He must think that he is important when he has the ball at his feet, but when he doesn’t have the ball he is also important.”
“Leao can be a player of another level if he understands certain things that we are working on every day at Milanello.”
Leao has a €175m release clause, but Milan are willing to accept lower than €100m for the 25-year old.
Leao could be the perfect signing
Despite how poor he has been this season, Rafael Leao would be a good signing for Liverpool. He is still at a decent age, and his quality has been shown over the last few seasons. A down year should not discourage clubs from signing players of his quality. Leao would be an upgrade on the current options on the left flank.
