Liverpool have a list of transfer targets ahead of this summer.
The club have suffered a horrible past few weeks. Liverpool exited the Champions League and lost the League Cup final to Newcastle. Paris Saint-Germain dominated the reds over two legs. It was during the game that the club’s lack of quality depth became apparent. Liverpool have relied mainly on the starting core of players this campaign. Outside that, not many players have stepped up when the first team stars have been absent.
Arne Slot revealed that Liverpool are already in the market for reinforcements months before the end of the season:
“I know people sometimes question this because they haven’t seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well,” said Slot.
“There’s a reason for that – because we’re happy with the squad. But I do know we’re definitely working on strengthening in the summer.
“That would mean, in my opinion, that we will, for the upcoming years if the players keep working this hard, that we will be able to challenge for every trophy we are playing for.”

One of the areas Liverpool are seeking to improve this summer is the attack. Arne Slot is reportedly not a big fan of the players outside Mohamed Salah. Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz could all be available for sale this summer as Liverpool look for replacements. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on signing Nunez.
Liverpool will be in the market for a new striker. All signs have pointed to the Premier League side chasing Alexander Isak. It was reported a few weeks ago that the reds had made contact with Isak’s representatives. But it seems like the plan has changed.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have set their sights on Liam Delap. The reds feel he will be a cheaper alternative compared to Isak, whom Newcastle will reportedly demand €150million for. Delap may be more affordable, with Ipswich Town looking for around €50million for the striker. The 22-year old is currently on duty with the England U21s side during the international break
Reds need to go for Isak
Going for Liam Delap because he is a cheaper alternative is not a good look for the club. With Mohamed Salah possibly leaving, the club need a marquee star who can score goals. Even though Delap has been impressive in his first Premier League campaign, signing a striker like Alexander Isak would send a huge statement throughout the league.
