Liverpool signed Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum from relegated Premier League teams and they turned out to be two of the most important players in the club’s recent history.

The Reds are keeping track of several players who are playing for some of the most in-form teams in Europe this season and are putting up great individual numbers.

However, Liverpool are also remaining vigilant about talented young players who are playing for struggling teams at the bottom halves of their respective league tables.

Richard Hughes is keeping tabs on players who are producing star turns for teams who are struggling to keep afloat and are likely to get relegated from the top flight next season.

As Robertson and Wijnaldum showed, there are some gems to be grabbed in teams who are destined for relegation and Liverpool have their eyes on one such player in the Premier League.

‘They like what they see’ – the Reds tipped to be showing interest in wonder kid

Mo Salah produced a brilliant performance to help Liverpool come from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 at St. Mary’s on Sunday.

The Saints are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and are early favourites to get relegated from the top flight this season.

Football observer Mick Brown has claimed that Liverpool have their eyes on one of the young stars of the Southampton team for a move in the summer.

He insisted that 18-year-old winger Tyler Dibling is attracting serious interest from clubs in the Premier League despite Southampton’s struggle.

He revealed that Liverpool admire the young winger and will consider trying to sign him if Southampton get relegated from the Premier League.

Southampton would prefer to keep Dibling but are likely to sell to get the funds required to rebuild the team for a promotion charge next season.

“He’s attracting a lot of interest”, Brown told Football Insider.

“Nearly every club in the Premier League have been keeping an eye on his performances this season because he’s a very talented young player.

“They’re assessing just how good they think he is, and many of them have had scouts watching him.

“After that game against Liverpool, I’m told they like what they see.

“If Southampton go down, chances are they’ll have to sell some players.

“The way the financial rules are at the moment, relegation can be very costly. I think we saw that with Leeds and Leicester last year.

“With Dibling attracting interest, he may well be one they look to cash in on if a good offer arrives.

“Don’t get me wrong, they’ll be keen to keep him at the club, he’s a product of their academy and a very good one at that.

“But with interest building, relegation from the Premier League might force them to sell.”

Dibling has scored just once in the Premier League this season but several bigwigs believe he has the talent to play for a top side.
