Liverpool swap deal in ruins after European club fears locker room mayhem

Liverpool will soon shift their focus to player sales due to the enormous amount of money they are set to spend this summer. While a few players are almost certain to leave, several other stars have uncertain futures, and one such star’s dream move could be in tatters.

The Merseyside giants have grabbed eyeballs and filled column inches with their move for Florian Wirtz, who is expected to join a club this summer for a staggering fee of £113m.

Liverpool are also set to confirm Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival soon, and have progressed in the negotiations for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez this summer.

However, player sales will soon become a priority for the club, and a certain swap deal that was mooted recently might never see the light of day in the upcoming transfer window.

European giants wary of massive dressing room unrest if they sign a Reds star

Luis Diaz has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool, and Barcelona have emerged as their strongest suitors this summer.

Deco has name-checked him as one of their targets, and Barcelona are said to be considering offering Ferran Torres to Liverpool as part of a swap deal.

However, those negotiations are not expected to take place, as according to reports cited by Football365, Barcelona have hit the pause button on trying to sign Diaz.

It has been claimed that Raphinha is dead against the club signing Diaz as it will threaten his place in the team, and he doesn’t want that uncertainty.

The Brazilian is a star in the squad, and the Catalan giants now fear that the dressing room atmosphere could become toxic if Diaz’s arrival annoys Raphinha.

Hansi Flick is keen to sign the Liverpool winger, but in fear of a dressing room turmoil, Barcelona are now unlikely to sign the Colombian.
