Liverpool stunned by Chelsea’s lightning quick £84m striker deal

Liverpool are in the market for a striker despite the large amount of money they are already set to spend this summer. A top target has already been identified, but Chelsea have moved fast to anticipate the competition for the Reds and are set to sign him in a quick deal.

The Merseyside giants have moved fast to secure a deal for Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival and hope to finalise a mega £113m deal to sign Florian Witz from Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days.

They have also progressed in talks to sign Milos Kerkez, but the Reds are still prioritising bringing in a striker as it is one of the key goals for Arne Slot ahead of next season.

However, Liverpool are facing the threat of watching one of their top targets move to Chelsea as the Blues have moved fast to spark negotiations over a deal.

Chelsea are pushing hard to sign a top striker wanted at Anfield

With Alexander Isak staying at Newcastle United, Liverpool have turned their attention towards Hugo Ekitike and are planning to hold talks with his representatives soon.

However, according to Sky Deutschland, the Reds could be forced to watch Chelsea steal the Eintracht Frankfurt striker this summer.

Chelsea have moved to open negotiations with his agents and Eintracht Frankfurt over a deal to take the striker to Stamford Bridge in the coming days.

The Blues want to finalise a deal soon as they are aware of Liverpool’s interest, and are keen to get it over the line as soon as possible.

Chelsea are pushing the hardest at the moment and appear to be the favourites to sign him this summer.

Liverpool remain interested in Ektike, but will need to sell either Darwin Nunez or Diogo Jota before they can make a concrete offer for the Frenchman.

Eintracht are yet to lower their £84m asking price for the striker.
