Liverpool are set to have a massive window, and their transfer plans have come as a shock to even their fans. However, the club are not having their way in everything, and it seems they have received a major blow in pursuit of a top attacker ahead of the summer.
The club’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz has stunned Europe, with the German expected to complete a move to Anfield by the weekend, and Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival is also expected to be announced soon.
Liverpool are also closing in on an agreement to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth this summer, but they are not having their way with every player they are trying to sign.
The Reds are still looking to bring in a top-class forward, and their pursuit of a top option in La Liga has hit a stumbling block ahead of the summer transfer window.

La Liga club president has poured cold water over Julian Alvarez speculation

Former Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez has emerged as one of the top targets for Liverpool, who want to sign a top-class forward this summer.
Atletico Madrid paid a staggering £75m to sign him from Manchester City last summer, and he has scored 29 times in all competitions this season.
Liverpool are considering signing him, but Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has dismissed the rumours surrounding his future and ruled out selling him this summer.
“Julian Alvarez is a player of Atletico de Madrid. He’s very happy here, he is our player and he will remain our player”, he was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“He was raised at Atletico Madrid and he will die at Atletico Madrid.”
This could be a negotiating tactic, and there are suggestions that Atletico Madrid could sell if they receive a £100m offer for him.
