The Reds are yet to make progress in talks over a new deal

The Ibrahima Konate situation has been developing into a sore topic at Anfield as the club continue to struggle in talks over a new deal with his representatives.

According to the Daily Mail, no new developments exist in the negotiations between the Reds and the defender’s representatives, and that is a problem.

The Frenchman is set to enter the final year of his contract, and the club will have to consider selling him in the summer if no new deal is agreed upon.

Liverpool believe Paris Saint-Germain’s interest has turned the defender’s head, and he is considering returning to his hometown club this summer.

Saudi Pro League clubs have also been alerted by Konate’s contract situation and are prepared to pounce if Liverpool do not thrash out a new deal.

The Frenchman has been a rock at the back for Liverpool this season, and it would be a major blow if he leaves Anfield this summer.
