Liverpool are prepared to spend big to bolster Arne Slot’s title-winning squad in the summer. The club are looking at several targets, and work is being done behind the scenes to set up deals. However, the club remain committed to not paying ridiculous fees for players in the next window.
Slot wants to reconfigure the attack for next season, and signing a new number 9 is the centre of Liverpool’s plans for the 2025/26 campaign.
Darwin Nunez has failed to live up to his billing, and his agents have been told to find a new club as the Reds look to move on from the Uruguayan in the summer.
Liverpool have been considering several strikers, including one on a free transfer, but there is an acceptance that Alexander Isak would be the game-changing signing for the Reds.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Journalist provides insight into Newcastle United’s thinking on Alexander Isak

Isak is the premier forward in English football’s top flight and has scored 22 Premier League goals in 31 appearances for Newcastle this season.
Liverpool have identified him as their top target, and are prepared to table a bid to try and snare him away from Newcastle in the upcoming transfer window.
However, according to the Daily Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, Newcastle have only hardened their resolve to hold on to the Swede in the summer.
Newcastle seem destined to qualify for the Champions League, which will be more ammunition for them to dig their heels in to keep Isak at St. James’ Park.
It has been claimed that it would take an offer of around £150m to even force Newcastle to start a conversation about selling the striker in the summer.
Liverpool or any other club are unlikely to table such a bid for Isak, no matter how much they like him or feel the impact he could have on the team.
