Liverpool won the Premier League over the weekend, but the club are working hard behind the scenes to bolster the title-winning squad. Arne Slot is looking to bring in several reinforcements, and signing a couple of defenders is a priority for the club.
Slot is looking to reconfigure the attack ahead of next season, but he is also mindful of the fact that he needs more options in defence in the summer transfer window.
Virgil van Dijk has signed a new two-year contract, but the Merseyside giants want to bring in a long-term replacement for the Dutchman while he is at the club.
Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is the top target, and the club are working on a deal to sign him. However, the Reds are also considering several other alternative targets.

Liverpool tipped to carry out a daring raid on Tottenham

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes the Reds need to bring in a centre-back as there is a distinct lack of depth in that area of the squad.
He believes Huijsen is a top young defender, but feels Liverpool need someone who is a bit more experienced.
Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and even Jarrad Branthwaite is also on their radar.
However, the former Red feels Micky van de Ven is a top defender whom the Merseyside should try to snare away from Tottenham in the summer.
“There have been rumours about Dean Huijsen at Bournemouth, who is a super young talent, but I’d like to see someone a bit further down the line in their development”, Murphy told the BBC.
“The names that spring to mind will not be easy, maybe impossible, to get, but you think of Micky van de Ven at Spurs, Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.”
