Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is under pressure to deliver first-team-ready players to Arne Slot this summer. However, he is not shying away from looking at young talents, and is now working on a deal to snap up a prodigy from the Championship.
Arne Slot wants to bring in players who will improve his title-winning squad next season, but the club are alive to the possibility of snapping up young talents with high ceilings.
The Championship is teeming with talent, and Liverpool are not against the idea of bringing in players from the second tier of English football this summer.
Hughes is now looking to snap up one of the top young talents from the Championship and add to Liverpool’s growing list of young players this summer.

Hughes is working on signing an 18-year-old forward

Ryan One is considered one of the top young talents in the Championship, but with Sheffield United under pressure to get promoted, Chris Wilder has failed to provide regular game time to the 18-year-old.
He is keen to leave Bramall Lane this summer, and Liverpool have been monitoring him for months with a view to signing him.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Hughes and his recruitment team have put in a lot of work to line up a deal for One, and he is expected to end up at Liverpool soon.
“There’s been interest from Liverpool, and another Premier League club have looked at him as well”, Bailey told EFL Analysis.
“Ryan One is seen as being along the lines of William Osula or Wilson Odobert, who could come in and make an impact in the Premier League.
“He’s not one you would think of, but Liverpool are doing an awful lot of work on him. They love him, and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t end up at Liverpool.”
