Liverpool are approaching the winter transfer window in a strong position. The Premier League leaders are not desperate for reinforcements and will only act if one of their top targets becomes available for a transfer in January.
Richard Hughes and his recruitment team are working hard to ensure that they have a shortlist of players who are carefully assessed by an army of scouts.
Liverpool are looking at several areas of their squad for strengthening. The Reds are closing in on making the decision to bring in a younger left-back to eventually replace Andy Robertson in the team.
The Scot is expected to be offered a new contract at the end of the season but Liverpool are still keen to make sure that his long-term replacement is in the building soon.
The Merseyside giants are looking at several left-backs in the Premier League and two of them were in action in the same game this weekend.
Reds scouts watched two left-backs in action

Bournemouth picked up a big win this Premier League matchday when they beat Wolves 4-2 away from home.
However, one more Premier League club had their eyes on the game as Liverpool scouts were at Molineux to watch the fixture.
According to TBR Football, the Reds scouts were in the Black Country to watch Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The two left-backs are at the top of their shortlist and the club are considering making offers for either of the two players in the upcoming transfer windows.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Kerkez got on the scoresheet as well and again impressed as Liverpool stepped up scouting on him and Ait-Nouri.
The Bournemouth defender could emerge as the primary target as he is open to leaving Dean Court in the January winter transfer window.
Ait-Nouri has also been on their radar and is said to be keen on moving on from Wolves as well in the upcoming windows.
Both the Liverpool targets have also been linked with a move to Manchester United who are also looking to bring in a left-back, either in January or next summer.
