Mohamed Salah was on the scoresheet on Sunday when Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-0 at Anfield and took a giant leap towards the Premier League title. However, there are no guarantees that the club’s fifth-ever top goalscorer will be at Anfield next season.
The 32-year-old forward has already revealed his annoyance at Liverpool dragging their feet in negotiations over a new deal. The club are yet to offer him a new contract and the attacker is not happy about it.
Liverpool are insistent that the talks are yet to reach a stage where a formal offer could be made as the two sides are still far apart from reaching an agreement over the terms of a new deal.
The crux of the issue seems to be about the length of the new contract. Salah wants a three-year deal while Liverpool do not want to get trapped in an expensive contract with an ageing player who could be on the decline soon.
The impasse between Liverpool and one of their most iconic players has allowed other clubs to get involved and try to convince Salah to accept a free transfer at the end of the season.
Salah has a ‘good chance’ of joining Liverpool’s Champions League rivals next summer

The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia next summer. Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are prepared to offer him an eye-watering contract to move to the Middle Eastern country.
However, Salah feels he can play at the top level for a number of years to come and is prepared to consider offers to join top clubs in Europe in the summer.
According to French sports daily L’Equipe, PSG are in talks with Salah and his representatives over taking the forward to the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
The forward has a good relationship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and he is now actively engaging in talks with the Parisians over a summer switch.
The two sides are discussing the chance of him moving to PSG and they are on the cusp of agreeing terms of a potential contract.
It has been suggested that Salah is closer than ever to leaving Liverpool on a free transfer in the next summer window.
