Liverpool star stuns club with shock decision to stay

In a dramatic twist to ongoing transfer speculation, a Liverpool star has reportedly stunned the club with a shock decision to stay. The move comes as a surprise, with the player previously tipped for a high-profile exit this summer, and could alter Arne Slot’s plans for his first window in charge.

Liverpool need player sales to offset their transfer spending this summer as they prepare to welcome Florian Wirtz for a British record fee in the coming days.

The Merseyside giants have already identified a few fringe stars who could be sold in the ongoing transfer window, and make space in their squad and wage bill for new arrivals.

However, Liverpool are in for a shock as one of their squad players has made it clear that he has no plans to leave Anfield this summer despite his lack of game time last season.

‘I am staying’ – A Reds star makes a definitive declaration

Wataru Endo made just one Premier League appearance in the starting eleven last season and played just 260 minutes of league football for the club.

He has attracted interest from suitors in Germany this summer, and there was an expectation that the 32-year-old would be keen to move on to play more football.

However, Endo claimed that he has no interest in leaving Liverpool unless the club ask him to do so.

He is insistent that he is not going anywhere and any decision to leave would be made by him.

“I told you I’m staying”, Endo was quoted as saying by Liverpool.com.

“If the club tells me to leave… No, I’m staying.

“I have a contract. It’s up to me to make the final decision. Basically, I’m staying, for now.”

Arne Slot is also not keen to sell the player, who was used to close out a few tough games last season.
