Liverpool set to sign Real Madrid star after receiving green light

Liverpool are widely expected to sign midfield reinforcements in the upcoming transfer windows and the club are drawing up a shortlist of targets they want to pursue.

The Reds want to learn from the mistakes they committed last summer and want to be more aggressive in the market in the next two transfer windows.

Liverpool are prepared to sell a midfielder or two in the upcoming windows to make space in their squad and raise funds to pursue other midfield targets.

While signing a midfield player is on their agenda in the winter window, Liverpool are likely to do a bulk of their business at the end of the season.

Aurelien Tchouameni has reemerged as a target for the Merseyside giants after they were beaten to his signature by Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.

The club get the signal to try and get their hands on the Frenchman

The France international is struggling at Real Madrid and the nadir came this week when the home fans whistled him off the pitch against AC Milan.

Liverpool sense an opportunity and have already held talks with his agent over a potential transfer to Anfield in the future.

A second meeting is set to take place soon between Liverpool, Real Madrid and the midfielder’s representatives.

According to Football Insider, the Reds have received a green signal to push for his signing but that is unlikely to happen in the winter transfer window.

Real Madrid are unwilling to sell him in January but the player is prepared to push for a move at the end of the season.

Tchouameni has fallen out of favour with Real Madrid and the midfielder is now keen to get a fresh start somewhere else.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the player and a move to Anfield in the summer has emerged as a realistic possibility.

The Frenchman joined Real Madrid in 2022 for a fee of £85m but they are unlikely to get that price if he is sold in the summer.

However, Liverpool would still have to fork out somewhere around £50m if they want to get their hands on him at the end of the season.
