Liverpool have lined up reinforcements ahead of the upcoming window.
The reds are targeting multiple players ahead of the summer. Major changes are expected to be made to the team. Despite how good the season has gone under Arne Slot, some weaknesses have been exposed in the squad. Liverpool’s depth cost them in the FA Cup. Slot rotated the team that lost to Plymouth in the fourth round tie.
Players like Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez have failed to step up in the team. According to reports, Liverpool will be in the market for new signings in attack. Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are all available in the summer. There is already interest in Nunez, with Liverpool setting a £60million asking price.

Liverpool set to move for Brazilian star

The reds will definitely be in the market for defender. Liverpool could lose two of their back four at the end of the season. Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are out of contract in the summer. This could mean that the club will be in the market for a right back and a center back. Fabrizio Romano revealed that the reds are interested in Dean Huijsen, who has a release clause this summer.
At right back, Liverpool have lined up Flamengo right back Wesley to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold. Brazilian outlet UOL have indicated that the reds are making ‘informal approaches’ for the 21-year old. Despite his age, Wesley has over a 100 first team appearances for Flamengo. Liverpool would need to pay around £25million for the Brazilian. Wesley has previously been linked with Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Vamo Futebol editor Rogerio Amaral mentioned that Wesley is highly rated in Brazil. The defender could make his debut in the national team in the near future:
“Wesley is very strong physically. He is always on the attack and has the energy to return to defense. He also has dribbling as a differentiator.” Amaral said via United in Focus.
“Wesley, he is a very promising right-back, is is expected that he will already be on the next main Selecao list. Everyone sees in him the potential to be the Brazilian team’s starting right-back in a short time.”
Could Wesley be the answer?
Liverpool will definitely need a fullback in the summer. Even though Conor Bradley has shown he can take over as the starter at Anfield, he will need competition. Next season could see Bradley be the main starter as Wesley adapts to life in England. Flamengo’s asking price would not be a problem for Liverpool.
