Liverpool have been one of the best teams in Europe this season.
Since Arne Slot arrived, the club have improved drastically on the field. After losing Jurgen Klopp last summer, no one really tipped the reds to compete this year. However, the former Feyenoord boss has done a great job with the team despite the limitations. Slot inherited Klopp’s squad. But the Dutch coach has been able to get the best out of players who underperformed last season. Ryan Gravenberch has benefited greatly from the team’s tactics this season. Arne Slot’s possession-based style has seen players excel in new roles.
Liverpool are challenging for the treble as the season progresses. They have a League Cup final next weekend and sit top of the league. The reds face Paris Saint-Germain midweek with the chance to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Despite having scored the most goals in the Premier League season, there is a problem with Liverpool’s attack. Out of the 69 league goals, Mohamed Salah has contributed over 40 of them. The rest of the attack have really failed to carry the lead. Luis Diaz is the reds second top scorer this season with nine league goals. Arne Slot has reportedly not been happy with the attackers outside Salah. Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will be offered to clubs this summer as the club looks to bring new faces in.
Liverpool will move for a new striker ahead of next season. The reds have been linked with multiple players this summer. The club have made contact with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. However, the Mapgies will be reluctant to sell their best star this summer.
According to Ben Jacobs, the reds have their eye on Brighton striker Joao Pedro. The 22-year old has eight goals in the Premier League this season. Jacobs revealed that Liverpool targeting Pedro is a shift to move for more Premier League proven attackers:
“Leao has never really pushed to leave Milan, and it makes it very difficult. My intel is there’s nothing advanced between Leao and Liverpool.
“And if they are to move for a number nine, then it’s perhaps more likely that they will explore a more proven Premier League player first, with Joao Pedro, for example, being one of the names on their list.”
Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
