English clubs have been involved in a flurry of activity late in this transfer window, which could involve Liverpool.
Just hours before the transfer deadline, teams are scrambling to make new additions to their squads. The Reds on the other hand, are not making any additions this month. Arne Slot said publicly that he is happy with the squad:
“I know people sometimes question this because they haven’t seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well. There’s a reason for that – because we’re happy with the squad.
“But I do know we’re definitely working on strengthening in the summer.”
There is no need for Liverpool fans to panic as the club remains in position to win multiple competitions. The reds are top of the Premier League, and qualified for the knockout round of the Champions League last week.

Anfield is set to be quite busy tonight as the club works out destinations for departing players. A large number of expected departures include the club’s youngsters. Jayden Danns signed a new long-term contract at the club ahead of his loan deal to the Championship. Stefan Bajcetic joined Las Palmas on loan after the club cancelled his Salzburg deal.
James McConnell on the other hand is expected to remain with the first team as Arne Slot is a big fan of the player. Tonight, the club rejected a huge offer for midfielder Tyler Morton. According to Paul Joyce, Liverpool rejected a £10million offer for the midfielder. Morton was also linked to West Ham this week.
Liverpool felt the offer for Morton was too low, and if nothing changes within the next few hours, he will remain at Anfield.
Middlesbrough have not come close enough to matching valuations so Morton will not be heading there. https://t.co/9WvyDjqadd

Wrong decision by the Reds?
A fee of £10million for an academy graduate who is not getting to the first team anytime soon is a value deal. No one knows why the club would reject such a deal. And with Morton probably playing limited minutes going forward, his value may reduce in the summer. The 22-year old has not played a lot of first team football this season, after impressing on loan at Hull City last season.
Liverpool made the right calls of Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic, but this shock decision will certainly not go down well with the clubs fans.
