Liverpool ready to agree stunning swap deal with Real Madrid

Liverpool have big plans to bolster their squad in the winter window as the club want to light a real fire under their title challenge in the latter half of the season.

The Merseyside giants want to bring in a defensive midfielder in the January transfer window after they failed to secure one last summer, which was a priority.

Arne Slot wants more midfielder options in his squad in the latter half of the season as he is aware that the whole squad will need to be at play if they have to win the Premier League.

The Liverpool boss does not rate Wataru Endo and the midfielder will be allowed to leave in the winter window to part-fund a move for a new number 6 in January.

Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has again emerged as a viable target for Liverpool after they failed to sign him in the summer of 2022 when he joined the Spanish giants.

A shock swap is in the works between the two clubs

Tchouameni is prepared to leave Real Madrid after feeling frustrated at the Santiago Bernabeu and Liverpool have the green signal to move for him in the summer.

However, according to Defensa Central, a move could be on the cards for the Frenchman as early as the winter transfer window.

It has been claimed that Real Madrid could bring forward their plans to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold to January as the club are in need of defensive reinforcements.

The two clubs could end up agreeing on a shock swap that would see the defender move to the Spanish capital in exchange for Tchouameni joining Liverpool in the winter window.

In this way, Real Madrid would get a long-term target early while Liverpool get the defensive midfielder they want in the winter window.

However, swap deals are notoriously difficult to pull off due to the multiple moving parts and the need to settle on a valuation of both players.

Real Madrid value the Frenchman at £50m and it is unclear what Liverpool would want for Alexander-Arnold if they agree to sell him in the January transfer window.
