Liverpool pull off shocking coup for Belgian wonderkid to replace fan-favourite winger

Liverpool are prepared to be dynamic in the market this summer and have several irons in the fire. The Merseyside giants are prepared to bring in an attacking prodigy if a certain fan-favourite winger decides to move on in the upcoming transfer window.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and Arne Slot have settled on a few priorities for the window and are working on those plans ahead of the summer.

However, Liverpool are keen to push the envelope to bring in more players to help Slot have his stamp on the team before the start of the 2025/2 season.

But the Reds need to sell players before they can bring in younger alternatives, and much will depend on what a certain top winger decides to do in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Can you name these 10 Liverpool players from the 2000s?

The club eye Belgian prodigy as a replacement for top Reds winger

Luis Diaz’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain. The Reds are in talks over a new deal with him, but the Colombian also has offers from Saudi Arabia and Barcelona.

A move to the Catalan giants appeals to the winger, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have already eyed a replacement for him.

Diaz is not certain to leave, but the Merseyside giants do not want to be caught off guard if the 28-year-old winger decides to move on from Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed that Liverpool want to sign Lyon’s 20-year-old winger Malick Fofana in the summer.

Lyon are not in a financial position to reject offers for the winger, and a bid of around £25m could do the trick.

The Merseyside giants have been keeping tabs on Fofana and believe he has the talent to become a superstar of the game in the coming years.
