Liverpool primed to knock Manchester United out of the race for £40m Premier League star

Liverpool are moving forward with an attempt to get their nose ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign a wanted Premier League star in the summer transfer window. Arne Slot wants to bring in attacking reinforcement, and the club are pushing to bring in a striker who is much coveted in the top flight.

Darwin Nunez is expected to be sold in the next summer transfer window as Slot is keen to bring in a striker who is more suited to the kind of football he wants to play.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is the top target; signing him would be improbable this summer due to the Magpies not wanting to sell him to a Premier League rival.

The Reds are considering other alternatives, and they have set their sights on a Premier League striker who is also wanted at Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Reds make moves for Manchester United target

Ipswich Town are almost certain to get relegated back to the Championship, but Liam Delap is one of the players who is expected to gain from a terrible season for the Tractor Boys.

The forward has earned praise for scoring 12 Premier League goals for a struggling side this season, and he is almost certain to find another top club in the top flight.

Manchester United have been growing confident of getting their hands on the forward for a fee of around £40m in the summer, but according to TEAMTalk, Liverpool have made moves towards signing him as well.

It has been claimed that Manchester United’s early lead in the race has been noticed and Liverpool made moves in recent days to try and set up a deal for Delap in the summer.

The Merseyside giants can offer Champions League football to Delap next season, which Manchester United can’t unless they win the Europa League in the coming months

Liverpool aim to blow Manchester United out of the competition for Delap’s signature by pushing for an early deal ahead of the summer.
