Depth is the main focus for Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool will be looking to beef up their squad as they hope to challenge for trophies next season. This year has been a decent one for Arne Slot. In his first season in charge, the former Feyenoord man has lead the team to a cup final, and was a penalty shootout away from the Champions League quarter finals. Slot can still end the campaign with a Premier League win.
The stumbling block for most parts of this season for Liverpool has been the squad depth. Because of the lack of depth in multiple areas, many pieces have been shifted in the team. In the loss to Fulham on Sunday, Curtis Jones ended up playing right back due to injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley.

Liverpool set for talks with French international
Jones playing right back is not the only instance of the team being moved around due to lack of depth. Jarrel Quansah has also played the role in recent weeks. Even though Liverpool see a future for the England international in the middle of defence, he had to fill in out wide in the League Cup final.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have also been used in a different role this campaign. Arne Slot is not a big fan of Darwin Nunez as a striker, and has chosen to rather play other players out of position.
Heading into next season, Liverpool really need to revamp the attack. Outside Mohamed Salah, the other options have been underwhelming this season. According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are among multiple Premier League clubs eyeing Kingsley Coman. The French international is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer. Coman at 28, is still a viable option out wide and would provide an experienced rotation option for most teams. Bayern Munich are expected to demand €40-€45million for the winger.
This deal makes a lot of sense as Liverpool wait on the future of Mohamed Salah. Coman could be the Egyptian’s direct replacement, or his backup depending on what happens in the summer.
