Liverpool player makes confident statement ahead of Emirates trip

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is confident ahead of Arsenal clash

Arne Slot’s Liverpool have beaten all odds to stay at the top of the Premier League table so far. With a managerial change at the start of the season, there was a mist of doubt surrounding Anfield.

However, Slot has made it clear that he is going all out in the English top flight this season. Despite his first campaign in England, the Dutchman is doing exceptionally well in arguably the best league on the planet.

Even without first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker, The Reds continued their eight-match unbeaten run with Caoimhin Kelleher in goal. In recent talks, the Irishman himself made it clear that the team will continue to shine despite the former’s absence.

“I will always back the team,” – Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

After The Reds’ UEFA Champions League clash against RB Leipzig Caoimhin Kelleher sent out a strong statement for the games to come. The goalkeeper seemed confident of his abilities and looked to be in the zone for more wins.

“Are we ready? Yes, of course. I will always back the team. I know the quality we have. It is going to be a tough game, obviously, going to the Emirates, it is not easy at all but we will do our best to be as well prepared as we can and we will give it a good go.”

“It is early days in the title race but it is still a massive game. We did not get the best result there last season and we will be looking to do better this time. It will be really tough and we need to be prepared.”

“It has been a great start, obviously and is down to a number of things. Definitely, the defensive form has been key. We have kept a lot of clean sheets and conceded less goals.”

“On nights like this (vs Leipzig), it is not easy coming away from home but to dig in and defend well as a whole team, we are doing that brilliantly right now.”

“Of course, I don’t want to be busy at all. The defenders are key to that this season. The whole team has really put in some shifts and there have been some big blocks and big tackles to get the clean sheets.”

Kelleher is ready to back the defence as needed and Liverpool couldn’t have asked for better reinforcements. Arne Slot will travel to the Emirates with his best four at the back whereas Mikel Arteta will be without William Saliba and Riccardo Calafiori.
