Liverpool are bracing themselves for multiple departures.
The club are gearing up for the tail end of the season. Arne Slot has had a largely successful first campaign with the reds. Since he took over, the club has continued to prove everyone wrong. When Jurgen Klopp left, no one really gave Liverpool a chance at being a serious contender this year.
Yet as of this month, Liverpool sit top of the Premier League with a 13-point gap. The reds once again capitalized on Arsenal dropping points on Wednesday night. Slot’s side dispatched Newcastle at Anfield on Wednesday night. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win.
Liverpool have a tough upcoming run of games. The reds play Paris Saint-Germain over two legs in the Champions League, before playing Newcastle in the League Cup final.

Liverpool journalist thinks Trent Alexander-Arnold will stay

The reds have a huge summer ahead of them. The club have to deal with the contract situations of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk. All three are out of contract at the end of the season. It has been rumoured that Salah and Van Dijk could stay at Anfield. Trent however, is said to be on his way out. The defender has reportedly agreed a deal with Real Madrid. He will earn a significant salary increase, and will pocket a substantial signing bonus according to the report.
Liverpool journalist James Pearce has shared his information on what he thinks will happen with the three players:
“I’m still confident that Van Dijk will stay put. I think he’s been by far and away the best centre-half in European football this season.” he said via GMS.
“With Salah we know there is strong interest from Saudi Pro League. I think that will come down to a straight choice from him. Does he want to stay at Liverpool and keep writing the record books or does he want to go to Saudi? I don’t think he’s ready to walk away from top level football.”
Pearce then adds that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future is not as straightforward as reported this week.
“The biggest question mark is around Alexander-Arnold. Those close to him say there hasn’t been a final decision yet but if you speak to people in Spain Madrid are very confident he will end up there come the summer.”
Is there hope for Trent?
Multiple reports from Spain have said the deal has already been done pending confirmation. However, the season is not over yet and there still could be twists to this saga. Liverpool fans have to hope the club can prepare an offer Trent cannot refuse.
