Liverpool suffered a shock result on the weekend.
After Arsenal failed to beat Everton, the reds failed to capitalize on the result and extend their lead on top of the table. Sunday afternoon was a result of a series of uncharacteristic errors from the Liverpool defence. The first half of the game was full of miscues from the players. Ibrahima Konate, Virgil Van Dijk and Andrew Robertson all played their part in series of errors that lead to chances at goal for Fulham.
The Liverpool captain later addressed the mistakes after the game to the press:
“It was not acceptable as a team,” Van Dijk told reporters after the game. “It was a poor day at the office for all of us. I think they were individual moments that should have been dealt with better.
“In games, these moments can happen but if you let them back in, they obviously scored three goals and we were on the back foot.
“No-one can ever be perfect and we were sloppy and we got punished quickly and, like I said, then it’s a difficult battle to play.”
The reds still have an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Sunday’s game once again showed the glaring weakness in the Liverpool squad. In a game where Fulham kept Mohamed Salah at bay for most of the 90 minutes, no other attacker really made much of an impact. The team lacked someone who could pick up the ball and change the game dramatically. Slot brought on Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot who did not make much of an impact in the second half.
Liverpool could be set to resolve the need for another quality attacking option this summer. According to TEAMtalk, Morgan Rogers could be set for a shock move to Anfield. The England international has been in top form this season, catching the eye of many teams. Rogers has found more freedom playing alongside Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford in recent weeks. Manchester City are said to be ‘very interested’ in bringing him back to the Etihad, where he was a former academy player.
Rogers is an attacking threat that offers versatility. The 22-year old can play in midfield and out wide. His ability to carry the ball in central areas would be a perfect fit for Slot’s system. Rogers has eight goals and six assists in the Premier League this season.
