Liverpool have a “concrete possibility” of signing €75M star

Liverpool will need heavy reinforcements this summer.

The squad Arne Slot has overseen this season has been full of holes and flaws. Slot was able to manage the players well and even found solutions to some problems. Boosting the quality in depth will be one of the major priorities when the window opens. Liverpool could also find themselves looking for replacements for potential exits. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are all out of contract at the end of the season.

Liverpool’s attack will be one of the priorities heading into the summer window. It has become clear over this season that the reds will need a new striker. Arne Slot is not a fan of Darwin Nunez. The Liverpool boss shifted the Uruguayan to the bench in favour of playing Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota up front. The decision paid off for most of the campaign, but was a point of weakness in crucial games against Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain.

Adding other attackers who can score and create will be on the agenda for the recruitment team. Mohamed Salah provided the bulk of goals and assists this season, but the reds need another player who can contribute the same level of production. The player would need to be able to work in the same attack as Mohamed Salah, who is close to signing a new deal at Anfield.

Liverpool have had their eye on RB Liepzig’s Xavi Simons in recent months. The Dutch international is versatile and can play in midfield and attack. Simons is exactly the type of player Arne Slot is looking to add to the Liverpool attack. Fabrizio Romano has reported the latest update on the 21-year old:
