The international stars of the Liverpool squad are set to filter into the club’s training ground as they start returning from international duty.
Liverpool’s England stars are expected to return to training this morning and another set of international players will return to Merseyside on Wednesday.
However, Liverpool are not expecting to welcome back their South American stars until Thursday as a number of those will be in action tonight.
Alexis Mac Allister is one of the players who are going to feature tonight in Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.
The midfielder picked up an injury in Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Selhurst Park and didn’t come out in the second half against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool were forced to watch him report for the national team camp in Miami despite the groin injury and he missed Argentina’s 1-1 draw against Venezuela on Thursday.
He was training away from the rest of the squad last week but recently returned to training with the rest of the team.
The Liverpool star came through the last training session unscathed
It emerged over the weekend that the midfielder would be part of the Argentina squad for their World Cup qualifier against Bolivia tonight.
However, a final call was still expected to be made after watching him in training and it has been claimed that he came out unscathed.
According to TyC Sports, the midfielder suffered no problems during the last training session on Monday ahead of tonight’s game.
He looked fit and comfortable and is expected to be named in the starting eleven by Lionel Scaloni against Bolivia tonight.
Liverpool will have their fingers crossed and hope that he won’t pick up any fresh injury if Mac Allister plays tonight.
The Argentinian has been key in the middle of the park for Liverpool at the start of the season.
The Reds will want him in the squad when they welcome Chelsea to Anfield on Sunday.
