Liverpool eye bold swap deal for £50M star

Liverpool could have a different approach to some transfer deals this summer.

The reds have been linked with a whole host of players ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Liverpool plan to overhaul the squad as they plan for next season. With the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold still up in the air, the club have lined up possible replacements.

Arne Slot could end his first season in charge with a treble. The Liverpool boss could win his first trophy in the League Cup final this weekend. The reds are also sitting comfortably on top of the Premier League. Slot’s side face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League knockout tie on Tuesday night. Ahead of the game, Liverpool have been handed a huge boost with the return of this player.

The reds have a whole host of decisions to make before this off season. Liverpool’s priority is sorting out the futures of Salah, Trent and Van Dijk. The club are pushing to seal these deals, and hold hope that the trio could sign at the end of the season. Liverpool also have to deal with players whose contracts expire next year. Caomhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson are three major names who could leave Anfield in the next 12 months.

Liverpool have an offer on the table for Konate, amidst interest from Spain and France. Caomhin Kelleher will leave the club this summer after being linked with multiple Premier League clubs. According to reports, Arne Slot is happy with Andrew Robertson in the squad, and Liverpool could offer him a short-term extension.

Sports journalist François Plateau has reported that the reds could make an ambitious bid this summer. According to him, the reds will offer Caomhin Kelleher in a potential swap deal for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

”Liverpool are very impressed by Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and have already been in touch with his representatives this season. Bournemouth value the Hungarian at around £50m — Liverpool could look to include Caoimhin Kelleher in a potential deal.” he posted on his X page.

Bold move from the reds

Offering Kelleher for Kerkez is a bold move from the club. Although it would be near impossible as Bournemouth would consider a deal with cash only, Kelleher could spice up things. With the cherries set to lose Kepa at the end of his loan deal, the Liverpool back up keeper would make a fine replacement.
