Liverpool travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray as the Reds prepare for their second UEFA Champions League clash of the season.
Slot’s men just came back from a second loss to Crystal Palace as the Reds suffered a 2-1 letdown at Selhurst Park. Oliver Glasner’s men were quick to capitalise on set-pieces as the Liverpool defence looked shaky all day.
Ibrahima Konate has faced heavy criticism following the game. The Merseysiders will let go of the Frenchman, reports Mick Brown of the Football Insider.
“I’m told Liverpool are prepared for Konate to leave. They’ll need to bring in a replacement, of course, because they don’t want to be left short at the back, but if they can replace him, they’re happy to let him go.”
There are also other players, though, who have shown hunger throughout the start of the season.
Federico Chiesa Liverpool UCL squad update

The Italian winger was added back to Liverpool’s Champions League squad following Giovanni Leoni’s injury. Leoni was injured against Southampton as the centre-back hurt his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Previously, Rio Ngumoha was chosen instead of Chiesa initially due to non-homegrown player limits. However, the Italian is out of the UCL squad again following a knock suffered against Crystal Palace.
Chiesa equalised against Palace before former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah sealed the deal for the Eagles in injury time. The Genoa native was subbed in at the 74th minute mark, and it only took the winger 13 minutes before making a difference.
However, despite his recent hard work, he will miss the game against Galatasaray as Liverpool recently announced their 21-man Turkey squad.
“He got a little niggle, I think it is the word you use here in England, in the last game against Palace. He tried it today, he was on the pitch in the beginning, but he couldn’t end the session, so we decided not to take him because in a few days it’s Chelsea again”, Slot told Liverpoolfc.com.

Federico Chiesa’s recent form
Chiesa kept working even after he was dropped from Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League squad. The Italian has played hardly two matches’ worth of game time and has already scored and assisted twice across all competitions. Slot has already got the best out of Chiesa, and he’ll be waiting to deploy him further in the future.
